Directed by famous filmmaker Tim Burton, the recently debuted series, Wednesday, is already the number 3 most viewed show in Netflix history, following “Stranger Things” and “Dahmer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”. However the newly beloved series starring Jenna Ortega is projected to surpass both series.
Known for her deadpan stares and witty sarcasm, Wednesday is trending for her gothic Gen Z fashion, a stylish upgrade for a younger demographic. Costume Director, Colleen Atwood took a classic fashion staple, the little black dress, and turned it into an edgy statement piece for Wednesday. Unlike the original character from the 60’s played by Lisa Loring, and the iconic Wednesday played by Christina Ricci in the 90’s, Jenna Ortega has a youthful grunge and edge to her that no other Wednesdays of the past had. In the new adaptation of the show, she wears chunky lug boots, cropped wide leg jeans, sweater vests, and bomber jackets.

However her Gen Z style is juxtaposed with Wednesday’s original ensemble. Her classic calling card, the black polka dot dress, makes a style statement that ties the old to the new.
